Facilities

NCCS is located in the American Quarter of Nazareth, not far from Mary’s well. Numerous churches are within walking distance, as are the supermarket, post office, and the suuq (pedestrian market). The largest church in the Middle East, the Basilica of the Annunciation, can be seen from the main entrance to the seminary.

The Center takes up the top floor of the Baptist House. (The bottom floor houses New Life Baptist Church and the offices of the Association of Baptist Church in Israel). Prior to being a seminary it was a residence used by foreign Baptist ministers in Nazareth. Here is a description of some of our facilities:

Library
Our library is growing quickly and consists of books in both English and Arabic. We have ample resources in areas like Biblical studies, systematic theology, and growing sections on missiology and church history. Our library currently has in excess of 1000 books. Plans are presently underway to expand the library and install a computer for students and staff to use. Printing and copying are available to students and staff.

Community Kitchen and Dining Area
The NCCS has a kitchen with a large dining table, which is available for use by our students. Between classes students always come in to have a cup of hot tea or Arabic coffee. It has become custom for the students to have a meal together there once a week.

Prayer Garden
The Baptist House has a large garden with quiet areas for private or small group prayer. The Center also has a large, paved, outdoor patio that can be used for classes when the weather permits. Our main classroom is also used for chapel which is once a week.

Class Rooms and Offices
By the beginning of Sep. 2008 we will have two large classrooms. The office of the president is also quite large and is used for faculty meetings. Our full time staff who reside in Nazareth have offices at the Center which are used on a regular basis for one-on-one meetings with students.
